    I use to make the original recipe and this is consistent with those ingredients and cooking method for the NY style cheesecakes. Exception is the sweetners and alternative sweet toppings. ๐Ÿ˜‹

  4. 2 tablespoons(6tsp) and then 1&1/4 cups(60tsp) of bocha at 3grams of carbs per teaspoon = 198 grams of carbs. If there are 8 slices of cheesecake that would be 24.75 carbs per slice. I'm wondering if there was another way to sweeten it because I love the idea of a walnut crust. Definitely will try this recipe and see how it tastes with half the amount of sweetener, Thank you โค๏ธ

  7. Try using butter instead of coconut oil, unless of course you can't for some reason. I find the richness of butter makes the for the best cheese cake bases

    However, I must point out that weight loss will be far quicker if anyone on the Keto diet accepts zero sugar AND sweeteners, inc low sugar berries/fruit.

    Reason being is that even the sweet taste on the tongue (from sweeteners), has been scientifically proven to trigger insulin production. Insulin is the 'fat storing' hormone – period. When insulin is in the blood, fat burning will stop/slow. True, it will continue to fat burn once it's out, but why put the body through this vicious cycle and slow weight loss? This is the biggest stumbling block to anyone on the Keto diet and trying to loose weight is the use of any kind of sweeteners to make deserts, cookies, cakes etc to satisfy their sugar cravings – even though they are zero cals.

    Finally and more importantly, sweeteners alter the bacterial balance in the gut, which makes the bacteria start producing glucose (carbs) even though you have not eaten any. This then triggers insulin release again, making a vicious cycle and making weight-loss much, much slower, whilst wrecking havoc on your gut flora balance.

    Please, anyone on the Keto diet for weight loss, just accept that when you're on this diet, you HAVE to say goodbye to your sweet tooth – it won't be for long. You will notice a huge difference when you do.

    And when you've reached your goals and begin to eat normally, you WILL put back on 'some' water weight if you start eating carbs again, but try and maintain a well balanced diet, with more vegetables and protein in, but keeping to your maximum calorie needs – otherwise you'll put it all back on again and more, like so many others do.

  14. Please correct me if I'm wrong but those walnuts in the crust have to account for a decent amount of fiber, right? Everything else seems right except I would want to deduct the fiber from the total carbs which would Equal my net carbs
