  1. I'm not sure why but I feel much better taking these. It's like I regain mental clarity.

  2. You mentioned long-distance runners might have a use for EK… I am a Hiker and have thought of this BUT there is a caveat… and a plus depending on how you look at it… using Ketone Salts will not only add Ketones but also add salts to the body… the caveat is you will need water LOTS of it. Sometimes water is limited in the wild.

  3. My question is this: If you take these exogenous ketones, does it really put your body in a state of ketosis or are you just peeing out the ketones you just took? What do they actually do for you? If I do the keto diet (which I've done for years and it certainly works for weight loss) AND I take some of these exogenous ketones, are there any benefits to it? Am I not better off just doing the diet and not wasting my money on supplements? Thanks.

  4. And it's not for weight, it's for brain health for myself and my brother in law who's suffering with cognitive issues.

  5. Dr Berg, Can you recommend some ketones that aren't full of sugar and aren't extremely high priced, I'm so confused. Thank you in Advance.

  6. Since I been following dr Berg and doing everything right and I’m a shredded 210 pounds at 6’1” tall but I was hoping to add keto fuel to aid in extra ketones. I do bodybuilding/boxing and calisthenics as well as HIIT. Any advice on adding “Keto Fuel”?

  7. This is not what it´s said in the "Ketogenic Bible" written by medical PhD researchers. The exogenous ketones are meant to help you kickstart ketosis. Imagine you have a lever in your body that is stuck in "fat storage mode" for years, it´s even rusty because you eat so many carbs every day. When you start the keto life style, you wanna start producing the ketones , it´s like applying WD40 to this stuck lever so it can go to it´s default place which is fat burning mode. Taking the exogenous ketones help induce the body to start producing ketones faster. But of course you need to have adopted the keto lifestyle already, those supplements are not meant to be taken by people eating a regular western diet.

  8. They were/are? Looking at them for Alzheimer’s treatment.. so it’s supposedly good for people who have a “diabetes of the brain” & the ketones are used as an energy source when otherwise your brain is being starved.. but it’s info from 2013 & I need to continue to do research on it.. but thought you should know a purpose they serve that was being tested.

  9. These helped me get back onto a keto diet by killing the initial sugar cravings. Didn't expect that, and it didn't seem like a placebo.

When I took this daily when off of keto I would start to feel really sick.

  10. that is meant that exogenous ketone salt do work, and we don't need intermediate fasting~

  11. What if you just started a 7 day fast?
Would it be helpful to take ketones to help get your body transitioned?
Or is it better to get your body into ketosis before starting a fast?

  12. Do both, you can carb cycle then get into ketosis faster, so yes do it the natural way but have them as backup

  13. My personal belief is that the body is incapable of maintaining its own fat burning processes if you force it into a ketosis state when it is not making its own ketones…. you are delaying the process of the body burning off burning off all of the glucose that you have stored and eating the fat and it's false….I don't know how to explain it.
it just Is so wrong there's nothing good about eating those fake ketones doctor Burke can you please do an independent research study on the physiological study of what those things Due to the ketosis system of working in your body

  14. I’ve been following Keto on & off for 2 years now & been strict with it for about 6 months now. i just recently bought & started using exogenous ketones, knowing that it MAY be a complete waste of money but still wanted to try them. so far i love them, more for the energy & mental clarity than anything. i know i don’t NEED them but they honestly make such a difference in how i feel day to day.

  15. I take a scoop of Ketone powder and MCT in the morning with coffee and it makes me not hungry most of the day…..I usually eat one meal about 6 or 7 p.m. (lots of green veggies and fish or chicken) I have plenty of energy, very few side effects and I am losing weight. One beneficial side effect is mental clarity

  16. This guy is simply amazing.. very short videos but lot of content. May God bless you Dr. Berg!

  17. So many quacks selling Ketones… if you haven’t run out of your own fat don’t buy them!!
If they worked he would say they work.. but they don’t! Too many hungry MLM out there wanting your money. Don’t get brainwashed by people just loving you to help them get up the ladder.

  18. But does it help when you doing a correct keto diet, does it help with the keto flu etc???

  19. Luckily, the bottle of bhb salts I wasted my money on was only $8. Wish I would have seen this video sooner. Bless your soul Dr Berg.

  20. Hey y'all I lost 35 lbs in a year and 9 months following Dr Berg and a couple of others along the KETO path. I've hit several plateaus (dang! that's a hard word to spell!!! too many vowels!!!) and been frustrated but just kept laying off the carbs and sugar and broke through eventually. I have a co-worker using BHB's exogenous supplements and I must say I'm tempted to utilize it myself to break through the plateaus I hit, I guess that's a no no hear. Any healthier ideas? Another thing I notice is that my food is pretty predictable, omelets, bacon with cheese over eggs on cheese over scrambled eggs with chees and eggs n omelets and bacon on cheese…. with chicken embryos and eggs.

  21. I need to know if I can use exogenous ketones in prolonged fast. Will they affect autophagy? My goal is NOT to loose weight, but get other benefits from fasting.

  22. I agree! It’s better to do it all naturally with good foods and lose weight nice and slowly. We fast and do keto together and have lost 110lbs between us since may so it works if you stick to it. We now do prolonged fasts as well for healing our bodies which is amazing and our ketone levels have been great the whole time! We prefer natural all the way so we can continue this lifestyle forever as we’ve reversed Skatz’ type 2 diabetes and he’s no longer on any medication now! 💕

  23. Does BHB Ester Reduce hunger? I understand that it does not burn fat, but how about hunger?

  24. I bought some because I was going through the transition and having horrible fatigue. I was eating my potassium and getting 5k mgs and taking a b complex supplement but I still had trouble. I figured out that carbs were sneaking in in vegetables and dairy so I made the switch but used the exogenous ketones to give me energy and motivation while I dialed everything in. Worked like a charm!
