In this video, Dr. Berg talks about squash. The word squash is a Native American word means “Eaten Raw or Uncooked”. 100 grams of squash is about 3 grams of carbs, 2 grams of sugar, 1 gram fiber and 1 gram protein. It has a low glycemic load which means it has a good amount of fiber to buffer the carbohydrate. Squash is very keto-friendly.

How about canned pumpkin?
According to the USA Butternut Squash has twelve grams of carbs per 100gms…
💕 Yeay!
I couldn’t wait to find out and I peeked in the comments! So glad because I love it with butter and cinnamon and I have been thinking it’s a cheat food. Lol
I started eating spaghetti squash as a new favorite keto meal. Unfortunately I noticed my blood sugars have gone up, my weight loss stalled and I have had to make more trips to the bathroom at night like I used to before starting keto. I think I'll just make it an occasional treat, rather than a regular meal. Leafy greens work better for me, but finding meal variety is my biggest challenge.
Yeah!!!
Yay!
has anyone checked these values? are we repeating truths or ?
Yay pumpkin lovah!
I'm trying to find out what the actual nutrients of Kabocha squash is and I have no idea where to look, can anyone point me in the right direction? Keto or not keto?
In my opinion the Agoge diet is the best diet available, you lose fat fast and feel energetic.
This is such a relief!!!!! I was so upset to think of giving up squashs, that didnt make sense to me 🙏 now I can be super happy on keto 😊
I am confused Doc. When I was on Keto, eating butternut made my weight loss stall.
Does Dr.Berg know a Kabocha squash? 🤓
YES
Thanks for the video. What about is a pumpkin? Is it keto friendly ? And what is difference between squash and pumpkin?
Thank God!! I think I like spaghetti squash better than regular noodles. But can't really do keto either. Low carb, low fat, low sugar. I basically have to eat like a rabbit.
Is pure pumpkin keto?
I think you're wrong about acorn squash. I remember you saying it was okay so I bought some. Had it for dinner tonight and immediately knew it was wrong. I feel bad. And a little ticked that I was so guilible.
Damn 😑
Wait 🖐spaghetti quash and butternut squash are ok on keto? 🙃 cuz I'm cofused😭 I read that butternut squash is high in carbs, that 1 cup had like 16 carbs?😭😭 someone help me
I love spaghetti squash so I grew it in my garden this year. I'm so happy it is low in sugar. But one problem I have with your review. What does 100g of SS look like? I'm not a chef or chemist and I'm guessing neither are most of your viewers.
Thank you for making a video for every question ever asked. What a treasure trove of information there is search on your channel.
and pumpkin?
I have a question. squash is sweet. there is sugar too. is that okay?
Huh? Eating knocks you out of ketosis? Eating more than about 30g of carbs a day kicks you out of ketosis… not eating.
Having an insulin spike doesn’t kick you out of ketosis.
I’m confused as heck. Can someone tell me if I’m wrong?
What about pumpkin?
Not all squash are created equal, and therefore not all keto friendly. Acorn squash, for example, has 2.9g net carbs in just one ounce! Butternut squash isn't much better at 2.1g per ounce. Spaghetti squash is a little better at 1.4g of net carbs per ounce. Yellow squash comes in at .6g per ounce, and zucchini has .5g. You'd have to eat really small amounts of these and of course figure them into your macros if you really want to have some of the higher carb ones.
Fantastic going to get one spaghetti squash for tonight and try it for first time 😄 thank you Dr Berg for having information on everything ❣️
I absolutely love these mini videos!! If a have a question about a certain food I can just head straight here and get a quick answer. Thank you 🙂
What about pumpkin?
Yay! My fav!!😁
You did all the work for me, thanks Dr. Berg!
