Can take a couple weeks or months and then once it's reset you gradually lower. People destroyed their metabolisms by cutting their calories too low. you have to lose weight on as much calories as possible because your body will continue to lose weight even cutting low as 50 calories. If you just cut out 500 calories you're basically cutting out like months of weight loss because you would continue to lose weight eating higher calories but now your body just got used to that and you destroyed your metabolism by cutting too much
