  1. I’ve been doing keto on and off for about 7 years and love it. Now I got a couple friends that are firemen and ambulance personnel that was telling me I don’t know where you saw or why u do keto but it will cause heart attacks and strokes I laughed I’ve read lots of studies but now can’t find any to send them does anybody have a link to some studies

Also about cholesterol studies are showing the people with the higher LDL levels with higher levels of the good large fluffy LDLs and low levels of smaller high-density LDLs are healthier and living longer. Suger and high carbs cause high levels of the dangerous small high density LDLs as talked about by DR Jason Fung. After being keto and carnivore for a few years I have alittle higher LDLs but most are the big fluffy low density healthy type and I have high HDL levels.

  3. After eating a SAD American diet and vegetarian for years and worsening health issues including prediabetes even being slim an athletic. I started keto and intermittent fasting. Within 3 months my pre-diabetes was gone ! Fatigue gone ! Blood work back to normal ! After 3 month's I switch to carnivore been that for a few years now and feel better than ever, and my blood work keeps improving. It works ! You want to be healthy than eat the way our distant ancestors did which is proven to be mainely meat eaters. Also supporting vegetarianism high carb diets is extremely detrimental and destructive to our farmland and environment. Growing large vegetable fields and huge tracts of grains depletes the soil of minerals and contaminates them with fertilizers and pesticides. While grazing cattle on pastures produces some of the richest soil in the world from all their poop that decomposes back into the soil. Growing up on a large Ranch I seen this firsthand.

  5. my blood sugars running high most of the time, approx 190-350. currently wear a dexcom G6. I do fair with diet and without going into detail, I have problems with 'grazing' and I think my insulin resistance is high. I'm on Humalog insulin and Lantus at HS. my Dr does not believe in keto and I would like to try fasting to bring down IR. then start keto diet. I am comfortable doing this as I'll be monitoring bs's closely with dexcom. a question, can I take medications while fasting-also most of my meds are supplements. hi from Deb from Lincoln,ne

    Love from India .
    I am doing alternate day fasting and keto.
    But lately I am not able to eat my maintenance calories. Not even 1200 .. my hunger has gone. Is it ok not to consume these many calories? I really feel stuffed when I try to eat more.

  10. one thing i really have a problem is seafood and shellfish allergy. including sea salt. am trying to reverse my t2 diabetes. i have made some major changes towards a keto diet but my drs are worried about hypoglycaemia. add in i have problems eating due to nausea from my fibro is something i need advise on how to balance the issues

  12. Diet Doctor, I'm 80 years old in fairly good health — except my blood work recently show 5.7 A1c and 115 blood sugar. I started a low carb-time restricted eating diet two months ago. I've lost 12 lbs. I'd like to begin fasting for 2 to 3 days at a time. Any concerns for me?

  15. Do you EVER EVER EVER EVER address familial hyperlipidemia or hypercholesterolaemia
    You know, it is a thing. 1 in 250-500 people have a variant.
    And speaking of heterozygous not just homozygous.
    Yet you NEVER address it in depth. The one time ( that I’ve seen) you did you greatly underestimated the risk and numbers. It was very sad and frustrating. It was shared on the FH foundation Facebook group with much malign.
    Will you please finally, once and for all do a video on this. You know, people who have either very high LDL from BIRTH.
    Or high LDL as well as High Triglycerides and lower HDL from BIRTH. Please explain why these patients need to be on medication and diet ALONE will not be enough. No matter the health, weight or diet and exercise habits of said person.
    It is very frustrating to be an outlier and the general public not understanding this genetic condition. To be constantly told that cholesterol lowering meds are evil, that saturated fats are “good” and diet can “cure” us. It’s belittling, condescending and quite frankly, makes you ( and those in your company) sound arrogant and dogmatic.

  16. I'm a lean mass hyper responder and was so surprised when the PA suggested I continue with Keto but add a staten. Uh, I would add a piece of bread before I take a long term med with side effects. My cardiologist said I'm good

  17. Dr. Scher, so many people I encounter on Facebook groups are putting unhealthy keto out there. Recently I have come across an argument on how many meals to eat per day and how much to eat. People are actually claiming that it is starving ones self. One person said she is doing keto and eating 6 meals per day. I know these things are not true. But I do use medical information for resources to help people. If you do a video on this, please send me a link. Thank you 😊

  18. Very true.Healthy mind in a healthy body ☺️.
    All you need is a balanced diet, instead of keto. For example finish breaky at 8:30 am, 11:30 a cup of coffee, 2:30 lunch, 4:30pm a piece of fruit.
    7:30pm dinner. Then 8:30 dessert, or popcorn 🍿 with favourite TV show.
    Plenty of water, no sugary drinks, no chocolates, packets of chips & eating out once a week. Or 5 day intervels. For example Saturday, then thursday, then skip one week & again Saturday & thursday, ECT. Minimum twice a week exercise & most importantly speak to your doctor & specialist. Also eat mainly wholegrain bread 🍞, instead of White 🍞. 1 coffee & 1 tea a day only, with 1 tea spoon of sugar. Also movies once a month. Guaranteed results from effects of diabetes, high blood pressure , heart attack & stroke. Because prevention is definitely better than cure. This diet I highlighted, is more suitable for people living with type 2 diabetes, because they have to eat regularly & avoid eating large portions, when hungry. It's totally up to you. You can make diabetes your best friend or worst nightmare. Just look up the long term effects such as stroke, bypass surgery, obesity, high blood pressure, gangerine, blindness, heart attacks, annurysim, imputance, fatigue & thirst. & Many other health hazards. You can diffuse the bomb, before it blows up.
    Just look up all these conditions, & don't burry your head in the sand 🤗👍.
    Oh & never cure depression, heartbreak & bore-dome with food, it's the worst thing you can do. It's better to go for a drive to the gym or bike ride, beach or picnic. The best way to cure bore-dome is to do something constructive like cleaning, washing the car, gardening, reading & sleeping. You'll never feel thirsty or tired. Your body will love you for it. Because the basic functions you used to do that you take for granted, you'll difinetly miss after a stroke.
    Also the most important thing that diabetics need to understand is that after a stroke, when your kidney functioning is at 11%, you have to undergo dialysis & your are restricted to 600ml fluids a day, because most fluids go to your legs & leak through the skin. The good thing is at this stage it's not hard to reverse your diabetes & bring kidney functioning to 70%. But it's better to control your diabetes 20 years earlier, & avoid all these complications, & put your extra 💸 towards your mortgage &; supporting people in need, & God Will help you.😄😄😄😄😄😄.
    Oh yeah after I reversed my diabetes from 11% kidney functioning to 70% after a stroke, I had to change my glasses prescription because my vision improved, I no longer wear compression socks, from edema & the discoularation on my extremedies disappered. This was in the late stages of diabetes. Imagine what you can do in the early stages of your diabetes. You have to understand that before a stroke an effort that takes you 7%, after a stroke will take you 75%. You can see why exercise, good diet, & performing house work is very important, when your depressed, instead of going on a food party. The sooner you act the better. Sometimes with the effort required to perform basic exercises, after a stroke, I wish that I didn't make it through. I would rather get my health back, that win 100 million dollars. Act now before it's too late.
    In the USA every 4 mins a person is added to the kidney transplant list. 218 people die from diabetes daily globally & the USA spends 380 billion dollars, every year or annually, to treat diabetes. 90 billion dollars of this money annually is spent on lost productivity. You can come of insulin. You will love your life, because it's very true that a healthy mind is on a healthy body. Just like a student in school, you don't just attend class, but you have to do your homework, assignments & study for your exams. Your health is more important than your career, because without your health you can't work & support your family. Health is more important than career. The same thing for diabetics, they should take their medication, but also do their homework, by exercising & dieting. Oh yes & you can have your crispy cream donuts once a month😋 🤗👍.

  19. I reached my 100-pound weight loss in March of 2020 thanks to diet doctor and intermittent fasting! In the last six months I have gained 12 pounds and as of last Wed I went back to the basics. Thank you diet doctor for all the information you bless us with.

  23. Hello. I am 5'9" 59yrs, 140-143lbs. I consume close to 2600 calories per day and love this weight. I am athletic with a extremely high metabolism and well hydrated. No medical issues. I would like to go vegan. No dairy or meats, but do NOT want to lose weight. Is this possible? Everyone seems to want to lose weight? I am the opposite😀. What say You?   25. HELP PLEASE- I have been Keto for about 9 months now. My TRI went from 226 to 93, HDL from 52 to 78, my remnant chol is 14….MANY things are better, BUT my small particles went from 950 1to 1148, and CRP went from 7 to 18! Any tweek suggestions for diet (keto) ??? I am a 64 yr old post meno woman, Thank you!
